Why Apple Is Taking The Smartphone Market
Since 2011 Apple has been struggling to regain the title of most smartphones sold back from Samsung. This past year Apple sold 74.83m smartphones worldwide, ahead of the 73.03m phones sold by Samsung. The reason for this increased success in sales is due to the success of the big-screened iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, this drove Apple’s sales in its first quarter ended December 27.
The company reported a profit of $18bn for the period, the biggest ever reported by a public company. Samsung, who will surely be trying to regain the title is also struggling with low-cost Chinese vendors such as Xiaomi and Huawei. Apple is taking the smartphone market.
